I am trying to format a String into fixed columns that appear to be in cells like below
system: ice calypso
id: 1234 5678
book: ABC XYZ
I can print this out nicely with the snippet of code attached but I need to save that output to a String so it can be used elsewhere. When I save it as a string like so
MAIL_STRING = System.out.format(format, "System: ", "ICE" , "Calypso") + "\n";
it comes out with an output like this - java.io.PrintStream@c52200
Can you please help me save the correctly fomated String into a String variable?
Thanks

use String.format instead of System.out.format
