Nothing appears? I would have expected the toString() representation of the ImageIcon to be displayed. If that is what is happening, you need to let the JTable now that the cells should be rendered as icons.
One way to do that is to modify the TableModel to return Icon.class when the getColumnClass() method is called for that column. To do this, you would probably subclass DefaultTableModel and override that method.
You could also set the TableCellRenderer for the TableColumn object associated with that column.
