How to close ServerSocket ?

hello sir ,
 i have sent u program previously .... n tried ur solution as
serverSocket.close()
serverSocket = null

but it is also not working and again the message is ==> address already in use .
plezz reply soon

You have to close using serverSocket.close(), you can also check at the documentation at:

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/api/java/net/Socket.html#close()

I had no problems closing and rebinding a serversocket to a given port. Are you sure that you do not have any other resources bound to this port?

It would help to help you if you post some context-code.
