Hi there Java Exps!
I am new to Java Development. And first up I have been assigned the scary task of using ActiveX DLL(Made using Visual Basic) in JAVA.
I have no clue as to where to start from.
Please help me.

As i said earlier I am new to JAVA. I followed your link and read the code. It was a real beamer for me.
Can i find something easier where the code is simpler and more importantly using an ActiveX DLL in the sample.

That wont work. He cant simply load his old dll, and start calling methods from it using JNI. As CENJ pointed out, you have to do some work before you can call the dll methods.
AFAIK there are two ways of doing this:
1. If you have the source code to your dll, you can change it so that it matches JNI standards. Basically include jni.h as well as the header for your java class. Then you change the export function headers to Java_<Class name>_<function name>. If your functions take passed parameters, then you have to change them all to the JNI equivilents. A list of the JNI data types can be found here:

2. If you dont have the source code to your dll, then you must write a dll wrapper that loads the origonal dll file and calls the functions. In your wrapper class, you have export functions that look like:
JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_<Class name>_<function name>(JNIEnv *env, jobject obj)
{
//call the exported function in your origonal dll file
}
Unfortunately the process isnt as easy as

Once you get the hang of it though, it isnt too hard.
