Getting the IP Address of the client machine from Applet

Hi,

I would like to get the client machine ip-address from an applet. The applet sends this ip-address to a webserver, which uses it for some purpose. Currently I am getting the client machine ip-address by opening a socket to the server url and then from the socket I am getting the local ip-address. This works fine as long as the machine has only one ip-address.

When the system is connected to the internet through modem cable and then if the user gets onto the intranet using VPN, then the machine will have two addresses. But the applet gets the first ip-address which is not recognized within the intranet. As a result, the web-server is not able to contact the client machine.

I tried one more method in InetAddress. I tried the method getAllByName(). But this method returns only one address. But ipconfig command returns both the ip-addresses.

Please note that this is a intranet application.

How can I get all the ip-addresses? Is there a way to do that?
