Why not use a JMenu instad of a JComboBox

JComboBox easy question
I want to add submenu support to JComboBox .
if an object have subitem display them in a popup and when selected put a combinaison of the two text.
example :
a
b
c->a
d b
e c
when you come to c if you are over c you will show a b an c item of c if you select b on c you will see on the Jcombo Box
