I am trying to explore on MQ series connections with Java on WSAD5.1. Pls let me how to start off.
Where can I download the MQ Series Java API?

If you have WSAD you should already have the proper classes to connect to the server. Have a look here for sample code: http://www.capitalware.biz/mq_code_java.html

Hi,
Thanks for the quick responce.
I tried to execute one of the codes in the link given by you.
I got an exception
MQJE001: Completion Code 2, Reason 2085
com.ibm.mq.MQException: MQJE001: Completion Code 2, Reason 2085
What does this mean?
How can I resolve this?

This is a must download for anyone using Websphere MQ (windows)..
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/wmq/library/infocenter/

Have you installed the MQ add on for WSAD?  If so, you will have two options when using MQ series in java.. the base ibm MQI classes and JMS. Check out the 'Using Java' MQ book in the download I posted above.  It should be able to answer most if not all of your questions..

A specific answer to the 2085 is found in the "Messages" book, chapter 8, reason codes section:
"MQRC_UNKNOWN_OBJECT_NAME
An  MQOPEN  or  MQPUT1  call was issued, but the object identified by the ObjectName and ObjectQMgrName fields in the object descriptor MQOD cannot be found. One of the following applies:

The ObjectQMgrName field is one of the following:
Blank
The name of the local queue manager
The name of a local definition of a remote queue (a queue-manager alias) in which the RemoteQMgrName attribute is the name of the local queue manager
but no object with the specified ObjectName and ObjectType exists on the local queue manager. "

In short, you are either trying to connect to a QManager that doesn't exist or are trying to put an object on a queue that doesn't exist for a queue manager.
