Java connecting to Oracle

Hi Experts, I really feel stupid now, but I've been getting my tail kicked on this one for two days. I'm trying to connect to an Oracle 8i DB using Java, specifically through Borland's JBuilder. I am getting confused by all the snippets about Class, Classpath, JDK, SDK, Version this and Version that. Can someone point to a "You must be brain dead since you require such hand holding" step-by-step tutorial? Barring that, a brief, correct solution would be most appreciated. Here's some details:
