  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. netbeans 5.0 and MSSQL SERVER conn problems

I am trying to connect Netbeans to a SQL server 2000 database . I downloaded the JDBC drivers and added to my CLASS_PATH. but when I try to connect to the databse using the runtime connection tool in netbeans, I get a blinking icon at the base of netbeans saying

I try to connect from the NetBeans connection window adding this database url

jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost;DatabaseName=Test

my classpath is

.;C:\derby\lib\derby.jar;C:\derby\lib\derbytools.jar;C:\MSSQLJDBC\lib;C:\MSSQLJDBC\lib\msbase.jar;C:\MSSQLJDBC\lib\msutil.jar;C:\MSSQLJDBC\lib\mssqlserver.jar

please ignore the derby part... it works.. I only have problems with MSSQL

I am trying to connect from the "netbeans runtime database connection wizard" using this URL

jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost: 1433 ;DatabaseName=Test

I also trid to Telnet, but I get this

but the SQL istance is definetly running on my system

Is since yesterday night that I am trying to find something on the Net regarding Netbeans and SQL server issues.. but I did not found anything
