ClassCastExecption error with arraylist

Hi,

I have an error message of "java.lang.ClassCastException" for this line of code

ArrayList cluster = (ArrayList) this.clusterCentroid.get(nearestCentroidID);

the nearestCentroidID is an int which correspond to the nearest cluster centre a pixel of an image is belong. the clusterCentroid is an arraylist contains all rgb values representing cluster centres. So what I wanna do is to place the pixel in the cluster pointed by the nearestCentroidID. I am thinking of using another arraylist to store all pixels of a cluster. Can anyone help me out with this? Many thanks.

Pixel clusterPixel = new Pixel(r,g,b);
ArrayList cluster = (ArrayList) this.clusterCentroid.get(nearestCentroidID);
cluster.add(clusterPixel);
