I think you'd be better off getting books that cover the parts that most interest you...

ie:  Servlets, JSP, JSTL, Spring, Struts, Web Services, Persistence, Hibernate, EJB, etc

Then get a good book on design patterns ;-)

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY A BOOK FOR J2EE. The internet has lots of resources,

J2EE comprises of

Jsp  (for developing User Interface / or front end screens)
Best resource is www.jsptut.com. Very good website for new developers to learn JSP

Design Patterns ( Are  standards on how to design your J2EE project..)
Refer to http://www.fluffycat.com/java-design-patterns/. Very good website
 

EJB (this technology is Optional, but its good to know)
Refer this link. Its very useful      http://www.jguru.com/faq/EJB

Databases
To understand access to Databases, you need to understand concepts of JDBE
Refer this
