Dynamic Domain Allocation.

hi experts,
      i want to write a a java program which will read from a html form n will dynamically give a url based on the user request. Eg, if my site is www.royalcyber.com n in the form the user says he wants a domain with his name, say fox, his space should be www.fox.royalcyber.com, or something similar. How does this allocation take place?
      This is what happens in blogs rt, wherein the desired blog name is asked for, n on availibility his blog will be www.<hisBlogName>.<BloggerProvider>.com
      I want to know how it is done. Can u pl provide the code or code skeleton for this?

You need to run your own domain name server, but this is hardly a Java question ;-)

thats not allocating a domain name, its just a new name in the same domain.

probably but its going to be a native process that you invoke. you most likely be just be using java as the external interface.

what might be possible is to have all trafic for a domain directed at your server, and then have your server handle the redirection accoring to the hostname in the request. Outside my field of knowledge though sorry.

One thing you can do is invoke a web form that allows the configuration of subdomains. This sort of thing:

http://cpplus.info/DEMO/virtual_server/domain_form57ff.html?add1=1&parentuser=www

This is allowed by some domain name registrars in their control panels
