How do I install jdk 6 with apt-get?

How do I use apt-get to install java jdk 6?

I've never used apt-get before, so I don't know how to set it up with the appropriate package lists or how to list what packages it knows about.

I'm using CentOS 4.4. I installed apt-get by doing:
    yum install apt

The following page describes how to install jdk 6 with apt-get:
    http://jaxmag.com/itr/news/psecom,id,35104,nodeid,146.html
however, the command
    apt-get install sun-java6-jdk sun-java6-plugin
responds with the error "couldn't find package sun-java6-jdk".
