Please let me know how I can create an executable 'front door' for my .jar, as suggested here:

You can create shortcut and you can change icon on the shortcut.
Create shortcut and rightclick it - go to propertioes and change an icon

Right, but I want to do in a clean way!
you can also setup your icomn if you create executable or there are tolls which then change icons on executable

Type "change icon on exe" in goodgle and youy'll find plenty of programs to do it
But it has nothing to do with java
But how do I create an .exe for my java project?
