Call COBOL subprogram from inside Easytrieve program?

Is it possible to call a COBOL subprogram from inside an Easytrieve+ program, passing parms?

if yes, how can it be done?

no i don't believe it is possible to call out to external programs from within easytrieve...
although easytrieve internal programming language looks a lot like cobol is isn't.

the language does not support calls to externall rountes only to internally written procedures.

IBM offerred a migration program to convert easytrieve code into actual cobol...
theat may be of interest to you?

no, I won't have higher permission to convert my program.

in the meanwhile... I've been trying to read some IBM manuals, and it seem to accept calls to external programs... I just don't know how.

I'll try to check if my mentor knows about it.

Not EasyTrieve+ experienced.

I just tested it, and just using CALL works.

here is a sample:


DEFINE W-PARM W 17 A            
JOB INPUT NULL                  
    DISPLAY 'FROM INSIDE EZPLUS'
    CALL COBTEST USING W-PARM  
    DISPLAY W-PARM              
STOP                            


just remember to have the steplib poiting to the cobol load library.

so, tliotta has the right info...

lowfatspread... I understand it uses a macro in your info, but I don't know how to build a macro for that.
