Browse All TopicsI have an old rpg progam that I had to make some changes to, so while i was at it, i updated it to rpgle.
Now i can't get it to compile.
It baulks on the 2 lookup
Factor 1 '-' and Factor 2 P are not the same type and length; the specification is ignored.
Not sure why

I don't quite understand why there are both [ctdata perrcd(1)] and [movea dprdno p]. Normally, I'd expect one or the other; but not both.
CTDATA stands for "Compile-Time Data". The array is loaded at compile-time from a source record. Since the array is loaded when the module is compiled, there's no need to use MOVEA to load the array.
If the array data is dynamic, then there's no need for CTDATA nor PERRCD().
Perhaps this could be cleaned up some...? Or is the CTDATA intended as default values in case there's no input to MOVEA into the array?
