How do I read and write to the USB port?

Delphi 7 running in WindowsXP
I have  been reading about USB communication and it is fairly complex. I would like to know if there is a component that I can add to Delphi to resolves the complexity. Or any other program sample or solution to read and write through the USB device, and not using the serial port.

Well, it all depends on how you want to interact with the USB port and what you will attach to the USB port.

There is no simple solution and there are few components/libraries that will allow "general" use of the USB port. It is pretty much specific to the device attached. I have seen a USB Human Interface library on SourceForge. The link below.

Search SorceForge for "USB" and you will some interface kits and drivers.

Also QKits has some noce training and USB stuff as well.

Look into the Jedi components. I'm sure you can Google it. They have a component to deal with HID interfaces. I've used it and it's very good.
I could not find a real solution with the link posted in the accepted solution.
