I'm sure the solution is to move the DBGrid's dataset's cursor to the desired record. heField', 'TheValue', []);
One way of doing this is the locate method (depending on the dataset).
This is a basic example
MyTable.Locate('TheNameOfT
...will set the cursor to the record whose field 'TheNameOfTheField' has the value 'TheValue'.
Look up the locate method in the help for more info - you can locate based on more than one field and there are UPPERCASE and LOWERCASE options, too.
There are other creative ways... such as
var
i : integer;
begin
MyTable.First;
//navigate to 100th record
for i := 0 to 100 do
begin
MyTable.next;
end;
