Delphi 7: How to calculate the width of a Grid Cell from the characters and font size

Dear Experts,
I am using a grid component (Nextsheet from Bergsoft) and I am finding that the column is sometimes too narrow to display a string of characters and so part of the text is hidden.

Is there some way that I can analyze all the cell contents of each cell of the grid and calculate the appropriate column width based on the string widths and the selected fonts?

it looks like this component has just left the starting blocks

usually calculation of a cell is done in a event like OnGetCellHeight
in this you calculate the text height on the current canvas

the width is usually changeable by the user
or a procedure is provided to redraw the columns with Applying a best fit for the visual lines or all lines
the width of the column is calculated for the current canvas too

you may be able to set column width if you now all texts of the columns
like for stringgrid:

I know nothing at all about Nextsheet so this answer is of the general (psoudo code) sort. In other words I am demonstrating a concept rather than specific code.
In general you can get the displayed with of text using  TCanvas.TextWidth
