How to blur a licence plate

Hello

I need to blur licence plate of an image representing car,
with Delphi

any idea ?

I assume your question is more about locating the number plate and not the actual blurring?

in fact, I imagine that by a simple click in the license plate area, it could be possible to blur tthe licence plate area

i mind it can be easier with this second image file...

May be copy a part of image with license plate to buffer bitmap, blur it using any algirithms and draw it on source image on right place?

Are these always the same kind of plates (black characters on white plate)?

Yes, but not exactly. Different coutries have different plates. Overwise, some plates in the USA can be blue with white numbers and letters.

first of all you'll need a unit to blur something:

use the mouse to select the portion you want to blur

using two clicks for each side of the plate ...

Excuse me

I want to add a TTrackBar control to specify a length for a beam

with two clicks I want to determine a line - but not a TRect area - and the length of the beam can specify the quite exact area to blur....

in the future I will probably use this area for a special watermark text ...

you're really stretching this question to it's limits

that makes it a lot more difficult
I understand what you want but haven't done that yet
actually you want a TRect but rotated/skewed/perspective
I have no experience in this
you'll have to ask a new question for this
