The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Configure IIS to run my delphi ISAPI dll

Tags: iis, isapi, dll, delphi, configure
I have made an ISAPI dll in Delphi.
I had it working on IIS as "TestISAPI.dll", and then I renamed the project and built it as
"DebtorISAPI.dll" (and of course changed all references to the fll in code and in html)
now IIS will not run it

Initially, "TestISAPI.dll" was configured in IIS by another developer, but he is not available to ask.
Can someone tell me in plaing english what I must enable/configure to get my ISAPI dll to run again?
All it does is look at an ini file, and produce some HTML from the same folder.
Thanks in advance,
Loki

see these links:

if you have specific problems, please state the IIS version and wether it's an isapi extension or filter (and the problem, of course).

sorry, it's an ISAPI extension , IIS 6.0 Windows Server 2003.
If i put the path into a browser I get "The page cannot be found"
although I know this should work. It used to work until I renamed things.
I am almost sure this is a permissions issue though (either in IIS Manager or file security)

well, if you tried the links above and didn't work, then the next step is to actually see what the problem is. so open event viewer and see what the errors/warnings are related to IIS and your extension.
report back those errors if you cannot fix them so I can assist you.

keep in mind that if any non critical errors happen, you will find them in the event viewer (I'm referring to IIS and ISAPI)

The problem was security access as I thought, There was nothing in the event logs nor the activity log, but by changing "Diirectory Security->Authentication and Access Control"
Unticked "Enable Anonymous Access"
Ticked "Integrated Windows Authentication"
The problem still occurred as an error code "500"
I checked dependencies and found that it failing because it could not find the delphi .BPLs
Included them, reset securtiy settings, and it all works now.
Accepted Solution
