what is the best method for  transfer mysql data from remote server to my  local host using  mydac for delphi,  append using my query take long time. I want to include source in my delphi programme.

If you are doing this to pull the entire database's data over for local use, you might want to look into FTP operations.  In fact, if you are pulling selected tables that you want to update your local database with, you might want to look into FTP operations.  

Basically, either FTP the entire database or select exports of it to your maching and then either connect to the database or bulk import the data.

if you are retrieving data from a server then you should use a stored procedure.
much faster...
also do not append but rather insert....works better....

I am using mysql  rmote server of ver 4.xxx , stored procedure for mysql is available from ver.5 , is there any other method other than stored procedure
