I've tried screen.cursor and nothing happened. It works on XP?

When I change the mouse cursor form1.cursor := crHourGlass it works only when the mouse is over my aplication, not in desktop.
Question: How to change mouse cursor in whole desktop, over other applications?
I use XP, and screen.cursor don't work too.

in this case you should use SetSystemCursor for all default cursor types, but that doesn't guarantee that all aplication will show hourglass since they can load and display they custom cursors..
cursor seting is done via WM_SETCURSOR message and if another application handles it in some custom way (for example, for Delphi editor, it needs to display crBeam cursor) then cursor will be changed to this cursor.
so the only way is to temprary change all default cursors to crHourglass with help of SetSystemCursor

Screen.Cursor := crHourGlass;
but don't forget to save previous cursor and set it back ;)
