"Authentication failure" using TNMSMTP and Delphi 6
HI there,
I'm using delphi6 and the component TNMSMTP provided with Delphi 6 to send e-mails. My problem is that I get an exception saying "Authentication failed" even though my smtp-server doesn't require any authentication. I've even tried to put my authentication info in the UserId property of the TNMSMTP component, with no luck what so ever. I can use other programs/components to send mail over the same SMTP-server without providing any authentication info at all. Any ideas ?

using that I got it to work as well, but what I don't understnad is why it is required when I can use the same smtp-server with other programs (like outlook express) wihtout providing it with my username ??
