MySQL server has gone away

Hello,

I am using SciBit MyComponents to access MySQL Database, I am getting often error message "MySQL server has gone away" usually when I am running long execution time queries.
The MySQL server is not gone and installed on local machine, I have tried to use Direct connection, lib connection and I get this error...

Please help me to get ride of the error message forever...

Hi!

The message is caused by a timeout of the MySql server.
If you open a query and remains open during hours, without activity, the MySql server closes the connecion for that query.

The time is definable in the server, (the default limit is 8 hours) but... I preffer close the query & reopen from time to time from my program...

Hello,

I have tried to add MAX_PACKAGE_ALOWED param but I am geting "MySQL gone away" whan I am tring to wirte a large picture to a BLOB field.

maby any one have an idea how to store images if I will need to share them over the internet?

Send the files with ftp and the rest of people can get it with http or ftp
You can store in the database the FileNames, but is not a good idea to use a database for store images or large data...
