Canceling out of an edit with a mask

I have an app which asks for a begin time/end time edit masked for time values.

How Can I allow a cancel button to work without entering a time value?

Not sure why it would be a problem, what edit mask are you using?

Just because it expects a time value to be entered, does not mean it has to have one.
Not sure what your problem is here to be honest.

There was a validation routine in 1 of the handlers.  Wouldn't let it out without a valid date.

However, when I comment the code out to see what happens, I can cancel and the mask formats the entry as a time field  but
allows me to enter 58:90 without any error.

What am I doing wrong?
