The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. OCX into Delphi 7

Hi All,
I have an OCX control that came with a sample VB program, dammed if I can get it to import into Delphi? There is a good chance I am doing something wrong as I have always sort of stumbled my way through bring these in! WHat I do is as follows
From the Delphi menu
Component
Import Active X control
Add
I choose the ocx file I want to import
It then shows in the memo box above the add button
I select it in this box
then click the import button at the bottom
it then gives me an option of new package or existing -
I leave it on existing which is showing as "C:\Program Files\Borland\add ons\com port\packages\A406_R70.dpk"
it then shows me a list of files contained in this control as follows - 3 .dcr and 3 .pas files, also
FAT800_Ctrl_TLB.dcr
FAT800_Ctrl_TLB.pas
MF5XLIB_TLB.dcr
MF5XLIB_TLB.pas
MSWinsockLib.TLB.dcr
MSWinsockLib.TLB.pas

and lists as requires
rtl.dcp
vcl.dcp

when I click compile I get [Warning] Unit 'ADODB_TLB' implicitly imported into package 'A406_R70'

I can see in the active x pallet page that MF5 and Winsock have VCL components there - I am pretty sure they were already there - but no Fat800 vcl?

ANyone got any ideas - happy to send the ocx file if it helps
