Browse All TopicsI am constructing an application in .Net 1.1 using Borland Developer Studio 2006 (Delphi Code) which has both win32 elements and asp.net web pages.
Users will be authenticated against details held in a mysql back-end but rather than store the plain text password in the table I would like to hash the password and store the hash value.
I've been trying to find out if there is a built in .Net function which will allow one-way hashing of text but all I can find is third party components. I'd prefer to use a built-in function if possible but can't seem to find one.
Does anyone know if there is such a hashing or encryption function in .Net?
Thanks

Have a look at: http://support.microsoft.c om/kb/3070 20. This should also work in 1.1.
