How can I know if the device is a TWAIN or not?

It's been a few years since I've dealt with scanning devices so I don't know what the most current state of the technology is. When I was working with it almost all scanners were TWAIN. So with that in mind... To my knowledge, if your imaging software has an Acquire option then it is probably TWAIN.
