Browse All TopicsWhat's wrong with the code below? I am trying to make the contents of a TImage vanish by filling the image rectangle with the color silver.
Sometimes this code works, sometimes it does not work. When it does not paint over top of the image I notice that if I minimize the window and then restore it, the image DOES get painted over.

You need to let the Image control know that it needs to repaint itself. Add the following line last.
Image1.Invalidate;
This will make your code work, but it is the least efficient way to handle it. If you simply assign the picture property of the TImage to nil it fill free the prvious picture and blank it (as well as force a redraw). It also reduces the code to one line.
Image1.Picture := nil;
