Delphi 2009 host application?

Hi all,

Today I installed Delphi2009 CodeGear. I have 2 little problems:
1. Can not compile any program(even program without any code).
I receive an error message like that ''Can not run project unless a host application is defined. Use the Run\Parameters... dialog box''.
I already went to Run\Parameters and wrote ''C:\Program Files\CodeGear\RAD Studio\6.0\bin\bds.exe'' there. Still not working. What should I do in order to be able to compile programs?

2. Why I can not find simple components like Button, EditBox? Where they are?

It looks like the install didn't work correctly

switch off the virus scanner during install
make sure you have internet access for the install (it will download files from codegear)
and reinstall

i've had some similar problems
but not all at once

reinstall solved it

When I go to Run\Parameters and write ''C:\Program Files\CodeGear\RAD Studio\6.0\bin\bds.exe'' to Host Application and compile any blank project, after thinking a lot it opens me another instance of Delphi.

this is normal, it first compiles the project, then it looks what you have set to run this project (host = bds)
then it starts that app, it assumes your project will be loaded by that app and starts debugging that app and not your dll

this is the way you would compile and test a dll or a delphi component package

how are you installing bds ?

it looks like you have a faulty install

what project are you trying to run ?

you need a VCL forms application as normal delphi application

post first few lines of code after hitting menu Project/View source
this will show what app you are trying to run

Actually I haven't compiled any code yet. I just create a project and without writing any code press F9. After that all these things happened.

and the main issue ... what type of project
because if you create a library or component package
then you will get that question

that's why i asked for the project/view source first few lines
