Building ClientDataSets piece-wise in Delphi 7

i've used ClientDataSets before by assigning them to the result sets of queries. I need to now BUILD several ClientDataSets (using the components) from the results of existing client data sets. How do i build a row to insert into a client data set component? In other words (in its most simple explanation), i need to take: pieceOfData1, pieceOfData2, pieceOfData3 and make them into a "row" that i can insert into a ClientDataSetComponent. Then eventually the plan is to right that data into a table but i think i can get that part done...
