How can I get the perl source code from a perl2exe executable?

Here's the situation.

I've had some nong at work here convert a perl program to a windows executable with perl2exe. Now he's gone off on holiday for a month. And he's taken his laptop home with him. Chances of getting the source? Nil for a month.

Unfortunately the nong has hard-coded some things into the perl script which should have been user-input. He's also hard-coded the signon/password into the perl script so I'm not able to send the executable outside the company.

I've hunted around on the net, looking at exe2perl and similar (wrong versions so they don't work). Nothing. It is apparantly possible to extract the perl bytecode from perl2exe but I have no clue how to do this. I'm not that much of a hacker.

Is anyone able to help me with:

1) Extracting the perl bytecode?

2) Converting the perl bytecode back to source?

I do have PE Explorer.

PS: I'd like to kick this guy's backside out the door. He's one of those prima-donnas who doesn't want to put source code on the server where it can be backed up. Drat him!
