Perl script help (using find.pm & wanted function)

Hello Experts,

I need your help. One of my customer has a requirement given as follows:

"Wed like to develop a script or two that can be used on our Network Appliance file servers that will traverse the file system and report of all files that havent been accessed and/or changed in a period of time (for example 1 year, 2 years, etc.) and then output the name, size of each file and the total size (in GB) of all files found.

Clearly the basis would be running the find command with the appropriate atime & ctime options.  Would you have time to develop such a script that would:

Allow the user to specify the amount of time as a command line option.
Output a full report listing each file name and file size found.
Optionally output a summary report that displays the total size of all files found.

Keep in mind that when run against a NetApp qtree/filesystem the .snapshot directory should be excluded otherwise the totals will distorted "

I'm just half-a-way through in developing this script, for remaining i need your help. I have attached the code in the snippet. Please look into it and suggest me how to complete it. Basically i would like to know, how to use &wanted subroutine to traverse through a directory and list out files which are accessed before a particular period of time (say 365 days).

Thanks,
Ashok

The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!
