how can bash script receive value from perl script.

As I am writing perl and sh embedded script, I get a value say IP from user as interactive mode and this is done by perl chmod function.Now I want to transfer this value to sh script to use for its own purpose. But sh script can not get value produced by perl script.
What I want to do is that, IP value produced by perl script to write in a file using sh script.I am using sed command for it.
I do not know how to make the output of perl as input for sh script.
