When I inherit from a .net control, such as textbox, and then override: how do I change the default settings.

. For instance, changing the initial multiline property to true instead of false in the designer when it is placed. Doing this at runtime is simple, but I want to change the inherent behavior and settings of the control when it is dragged onto the form from the designer.

So on a custom control ive created that inherits from a standard control, how do I modify the default properties?
