using the "locate" or "find" command in cygwin

Asked by billyboy71 in Regular Expressions, Linux Programming, Unix Systems Programming

Hi,

I am trying to locate a file name using the "locate" or "find" command in cygwin. I only know  a part of the filename.   However I can't seem to use regular expressions to find the file.

If I know that that file name contains the numbers '428', how can I use the "locate" or "find" command with regular expressions to locate the file?

Thanks
