The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

I get a Data Type Mismatch Error when Executing a Query in Access

Asked by Rex85 in SQL Query Syntax, Microsoft Access Database, Access Coding/Macros

Tags: , ,

This database is the result of much help I have recieved here on EE. I am only uploading a portion.

The only difference between these tables and the ones I am working with are that these are imported, and the ones I use are links to Excel tables. All the other queries and the Function are identical.

The problem is that I get a DataMismatch error when executing the the Summing Query. I did not get this error yesterday or today. The function was provided by mbizup and fixed a similar problem I was having with some other queries, which now work fine.

The function worked on this summing query earlier, but now it doesn't after the remote personnel were looking in the file. Something they did inadvertently  is causing this to hang up. I need to error proof it to prevent the crash, as I can't control all of the people and environments at the remote locations, especially as I don't know what they are doing. It is not an obvious issue (not to me anyway.)

All of the other tables and queries I use are identical to these, including the source Excel files. All are copies of the originals. I just cut, paste, and rename things. They are all identical but located at different remote locations.

I will also post a screen shot of the error and the line of code highlighted when it fails.Start Free Trial
