The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Problem with quotation marks in stored procedure

Asked by halifaxman in SQL Query Syntax

On the 1st of each month, we create a table for the following months data,
sonon the 1st June we have created a tbale for May titled CDR_MAY08. We do
this for every month.

I have developed a stoed procedure, as below, which looks at the table for the previous.
Its written so I dont have to keep putting the name of the table in each month.

SET NOCOUNT ON
DECLARE @Table sysname
SET @Table = 'CDR_' + UPPER(LEFT(DATENAME(mm,DATEADD(m,-1,GETDATE())),3)) + SUBSTRING(CAST(YEAR(GETDATE()-15)AS VARCHAR),3,2)
EXEC ('SELECT callingpartynumber, datetimeorigination_dt as start, dateTimedisconnect_dt as callEND, duration, CMCInfo.code as code, CASE WHEN clientmattercode = ""
THEN finalcalledpartynumber ELSE "" END AS partynumber,CMCInfo.description, finalcalledpartynumber
FROM '+@Table+' LEFT OUTER JOIN CMCInfo ON ' +@Table+'.clientmattercode = CMCInfo.code
WHERE duration <> 0 and callingpartynumber in ("3754","3755","3756","7208","7055","3760","3764","7227","7373","7196","7079","7038","7052","7070","7179","7019")

')
SET NOCOUNT OFF

When I try and execure it I get the error message

An object or column name is missing or empty. For SELECT INTO statements, verify each column has a name. For other statements, look for empty alias names.
Aliases defined as "" or [] are not allowed. Add a name or single space as the alias name.

The error relates to callingpartynumber in ("3754","3755","3756" as it doesn seem to like the "" marks.

Is there a way I can get around this?

Thanks
