Browse All TopicsI have a MySQL table that contains columns fro longitude and latitude values in the decimal 9,7 format. I want to search the rows to find records where long and lat values are between certain values. I have tried the code below but its returning no results when there are matching values. How can i make the calculation on the decimal type?

FROM geoname WHERE (format(latitude,2) >= 50.00 AND format(latitude,2) <= 52.00 AND format(longitude,1) >= 1.0 AND format(longitude,1) <= -1.0)

format(longitude,1) >= 0.5 AND format(longitude,1) <= -0.5)
you still have this wrong should be <= 0.5 and >= -0.5
if it is greater than 0.5 or 1.0 it can' ALSO be less than -0.5 or - 1.0

SELECT geonameid, name, latitude, longitude
2: FROM geoname WHERE (latitude >= 50.00 AND latitude <= 52.00 AND longitude <= 1.0 AND longitude >= -1.0)
