How can I make a combo box deselect itself after selecting an item?

Asked by Exl04 in SQL Query Syntax, Microsoft Access Database

How can I make a combo box deselect itself after selecting an item?
What I want to do is when I chose an item; I want the combo box to look as it hasnt been selected. Im using this combo box as title (trying to save some real state in a form) I remove d a label indicating what was chosen from this combo box, but when using the combo box as a select criteria tool and as a title the item chosen stay with the black background.  How can I make it to, when choosing an item stay with the background white as when an item hasnt been choose .
Im using the AfterUpdate event in this combo box

Thanks in advance for the help
