The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Dynamically set field name using value from unbound text box

Asked by tashmyke in Access Coding/Macros, Access Forms, SQL Query Syntax

I'm using Access 2003 to a make table query and I would like field name to use a value from unbound text box that I have on a form and I'm not sure how to do this.

Currently I have a form and when the user enters in date I use date to calculate the past x number of monthly intervals, I put each of those intervals into an unbound text box P1, P2, P3, P4...
snipet of code
Me.P1_01 = Format(DateAdd("M", -0, [Forms]![Aged Inventory Report]![EndDate]), "YYYY" & "/" & "MM")
Me.P1_02 = Format(DateAdd("M", -1, [Forms]![Aged Inventory Report]![EndDate]), "YYYY" & "/" & "MM")
Me.P1_03 = Format(DateAdd("M", -2, [Forms]![Aged Inventory Report]![EndDate]), "YYYY" & "/" & "MM")
Me.P1_04 = Format(DateAdd("M", -3, [Forms]![Aged Inventory Report]![EndDate]), "YYYY" & "/" & "MM")

I've created a make table query that uses the value from each of the unbound text box to calculate the sum of the records that happen during the time interval I would also like that text box value to be the field name but have not had any luck, the values in the textboxes will change dynamically.

The form contains unbound text boxes the values contained in the text boxes are the field names that I want in my table.
P1_01 = 10/2009
P1_02 = 09/2009
P1_03 = 08/2009
P1_04 = 07/2009

Currently in my make table query I have hardcoded the following:
PART    P1_01      P1_02    P1_03     P1_04
ABC     10            2             5            0

I would like dynamically set the field names using value from unbound text box P1_01, P1_02, P1_03, P1_04
PART    10/2009      09/2009    08/2009     07/2008
ABC     10                2               5                 0
