Question

ASP.NET 2.0 Issues with Ajax Control - Accordian

Asked by: CipherIS

I am trying to implement an Ajax control on my website.  Specifically the Accordian.  Below is the code.  The Accordian does not work.  It displays with AccordianPane1 open and displaying Test 1 but when I click on the other Accordian nothing happens.

Any ideas?

hi There,

Do you have a link we can have a look at?

Your code works fine for me in IE7.

What browser are you using? Do you have javascript blocked or any other security settings on your browser?

by: rousseauhkPosted on 2009-09-05 at 03:50:32ID: 25265686

BTW, I did change this

<scriptmanager ... >
<asp:.... >
</scriptmanager>

to

<scriptmanager ... />
<asp...>

There shouldnt be anything contained inside the scriptmanager.

by: CipherISPosted on 2009-09-05 at 08:35:24ID: 25266564

I made the script manager changes - thx.  The accordian is still not working.

by: CipherISPosted on 2009-09-05 at 08:35:42ID: 25266566

In addition I am using master pages

by: rousseauhkPosted on 2009-09-05 at 18:55:27ID: 25268520

Have you tried testing the accordian code in a separate page (that doesnt use a master)?

If that works OK, please post the code from your master page. It may be due to a conflict such as duplicated scriptmanager controls.

by: CipherISPosted on 2009-09-06 at 23:05:54ID: 25272971

First, I copied the code that I am using in the Master on top of this post.  I created a new ASP.NET website and copied the accordian code from the master page to the new website which is not using the master page (code is below).  It works without master pages.

Any idea on how to get it to work with master pages?

HI There,

You should be able to use the script manager in the master page and then add the ajax toolkit to your web.config files so it's global.

Let me know how it goes.

Sean

by: rousseauhkPosted on 2009-09-07 at 03:24:15ID: 25273994

Check that in your master page you have a single <scriptmanager/> control.

And in your child pages you have a single <scriptmanagerproxy/> control (syntax is same as scriptmanager, but you must use the proxy control in child pages).

If this doesnt work, please post the code for your master page.

by: CipherISPosted on 2009-09-07 at 07:27:21ID: 25275284

Suggestion didn't work.  I put the <scriptmanager> on the master page and the <scriptmanagerproxy> on the services.aspx page and it didn't work.  The services.aspx page said that I needed  <scriptmanager> so I added it again and the accordians are not working.

Below is the code from the master page

HiI tested it and it work, but i was not able to use the same master page. i dont have the epicFlashControl

Could you check if you got an warrinig on the bottom of IE (usualy a yellow "!" mark)

i suspect the part on the snippet to screw things.

coul you test it without that code. also try to remove the <%@ Register Assembly="epicFlashControl" Namespace="epicFlash" TagPrefix="cc1" %>

 <script type="script/javascript">
                    AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0','width','900','height','130','title','CIS BF Header','src','flash/CIS_bf_header','quality','high','pluginspage','http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash','movie','flash/CIS_bf_header' ); //end AC code
