414 Request-URI Too Large (Ajax / PHP)

I need to pass 20,000 char into a ajax call. Currently i obtain error:

414 Request-URI Too Large
The requested URL's length exceeds the capacity limit for this server.

i've changed the LimitRequestLine in apache.
It worked under FF but didn't work under IE. Probably limited by the browser itself.

You can see how i call the ajax cal below.

How i can pass more than 8K to ajax call and how i can retrieve data on php side?

You should include the mydata variable as POST data instead of as part of the URL (=GET data)
