export data from a tabel to excel

Hi!
I have a database named "personal" and a tabel named "dpers". I also have a web page where I have displayed all the information from the tabel. I also have a button named "export", and I want when I click the button to export the tabel "dpers" to excel. I need the surce code, and I need the surce code to be write in java script or visual basic script language.

This will trigger an alert re:security. Using the FSO on the server is fine, but the client will complain.

If this is an intranet, perhaps it is acceptable, but it is not the solution I would use.

And now you want to what solution I *would* use, eh? Sorry, it has never come up. But I will see if I can find something.

Meanwhile, other experts may have something at hand...be patient...

How about this: when you click the button, use Ajax and have the server write the data from "dpers" into a CSV file that you can then import into Excel?

Or instantiate Excel and manipulate the object, creating workbooks/worksheets on-th-fly?

From the client, you might have problems, but from the server, not so much.
