jQuery Help - JBar script

I wanted to have a similar function to twitter, where by a notification bar appears from the top fo a few seconds then hides again.

I found http://tympanus.net/codrops/2009/10/29/jbar-a-jquery-notification-plugin/ which is really cool, but i really need to do is modify the code so that i can call it using something like

<script...>
ShowNotification({options....},'message');
</script>

at the moment it binds to an elements on click... if i remove the bind, it will of course show a message onloading,... but i really need to be able to call this fuction and since my jQuery is pretty lame im really struggling!

Many thanks in advance.

...Also, if anyone feels they know a better alternative (but not growl style etc) please do let me know

Solved it after a good few hours!!

I commented out the "jQuerythis.click(function(e){" part, then i was able to call the function using either:

or
