The Solution Rating System

dynamic html with javascript without Frames

I had made a tree menu with javascript using frames.  Now I'm working on trying to make it work without frames (just to run in the body of a page), and it seems to keep giving me runtime errors.  It's basically where you click on a node, and it expands into it's subnodes and/or leafs.  The problem is that I no longer have a frame object, and *I think* that the function calls are having issues with that.  For example, the primary function call that is puking on me is (I already defined doc to be = to top.window.document):  doc.write("<A href='javascript:top.openBranch(\"" + foldersNode[4] + "\")'")
The nodes are stored in an array, which loads up fine and outputs the main parent node fine.  It's just when I click on it, trying to expand it, that I run into the error.  It worked fine when I was using frames (although doc was defined as top.treeFrame.window.document), but when I took out the frameset, the problems began.  Can anyone help?  If you need to look at the actual code, I can post it/send it to you.
