The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Hyperlink to a nonresizeable window without using window.open();

Asked by weaponX in JavaScript

Tags: window, open, javascript, using, hyperlink

I know how to link to a popup using a function containing the window.open(); method and using an anchor tag like

<a href="javascript:wireWindow();" alt="Wireless Service">

where wireWindow(); contains this variable

nWindow = open("", "kWindow", "toolbar=0,location=0,directories=0,status=0,menubar=0,scrollbars=0,resizeable=0,width=280,height=280,top=150,left=150");

BUT

is it possible to control the resize attribute without using javascript and calling a function?

I want to control the scroll and resize attributes thru a normal hyperlink like..

<a href='wireless.html' noresize scroll='no' target='_new'>

so this should pop a new, nonresizeable page up with no
scrolling.

My Question in English.

When opening a NEW window with a hyperlink like this..

<a href="wireless.html" target="_new">

Where do i set the noresize for the child window?

Do I set it in the <a href="wireless.html" target="_new"> tag of the parent window?

or

Do I set it in the <body> tag of the child window?

or

Do I need to use the javascript function to control these attributes thru the window.open("") features list from the parent window's declared variable?

I can't get it to work without using a javascript function.

What I aim to do is open one window with window.open(); and document.write(); from a function and then from the new window I just opened, I want to click a link that opens yet another window...and I found out that I can't nest the window.open functions and make them work.

I'm lost please assist.

Thank you if you can help and thank you even if you just try.
