How to implement a java applet - newbie question

Hi, I have a java servlet I am trying to setup and have had no luck so thought I'd ask you guys.  The free servlet is here:

It is a Text to Gif generator that I want to put on a web site of mine.  I have tried the few things it suggests to do but dont really understand it.  Can someone please let me know how this is supposed to work, and remember i dont know much about java or javascript.  I tried making an html page with <applet pointing to the .class file but it didnt do anything.  I really dont want to try to learn java, just want to get this servlet working.  Thanks in advance.Start Free Trial
