I am trying to get the task bar for a certain browser window to flash, as if the window requires your attention. I know I can use window.focus(); to take the user directly to the window, but I only want to make it flash in the task bar.
Thanks,
Chen

chen,
If your window does not open any other window or is not opened by any other window, it will flash if you do this:
<body onblur=this.focus()>
(at least that's the way it is with XP)
However, if it is opened by another window then yes, using onfocus will bring the user directly to the window...do you really need a workaround for this?
btw, abhimalani I could not get yours to work?

with Javascript there is no way to do that.
It might be possible for an application using the windows API, but i would not reccomend it. It sounds like a breach of the usage conventions.
